Job summary

Merivale in Sydney is seeking passionate commis, demi chefs and chef de parties for full-time or casual roles across its Asian venues, Mr Wong and Good Luck. You will join experienced culinary teams to deliver high-quality dishes with a focus on flavour, technique, consistency and presentation.

Applicants with experience in Cantonese, Chinese, Southeast Asian or broader Asian cuisines, and a genuine passion for Asian cooking, are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Have professional kitchen experience, ideally within a high-end restaurant.
• Passion for Asian cuisine and cooking techniques.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Experience with techniques such as wok cooking, roasting, grilling or steaming.
• Adaptable and comfortable working across different menus and kitchen sections.
• Strong focus on quality, consistency and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Keen to develop skills and progress your career.

Responsibilities

• Join Merivale’s two Sydney venues, Mr Wong and Good Luck, delivering high-quality dishes.
• Work closely with senior chefs to ensure flavour, technique and presentation meet standards.
• Contribute across multiple kitchen sections and menus in a fast-paced environment.
