Job summary

Australian Signals Directorate Sydney, NSW, seeks a Data Officer to manage ASD data systems ensuring accuracy and compliance with policy. You will work with programming languages and tools to manage, store and archive data, while engaging with stakeholders to respond to issues and improve processes.

The role supports the Mission Data Division’s data platforms, including AI/ML capabilities, with a focus on data governance and day‑to‑day operations.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Math, Physics, STEM or related.
• Experience with data management and cloud technologies is desirable.
• Contributions to technical delivery in government or policy-related areas are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organise workflow and make independent decisions.
• Provide advice based on legislation, policy and procedures.
• Coordinate team work and assist with task completion methods to team members.
• May coach or supervise a team.
• Set work priorities and manage workflows and performance.
• Engage with stakeholders to identify and respond to issues.
