Job summary

Alkira is seeking a dedicated classroom teacher to deliver high-quality instruction across year levels within the SWIS model at a Melbourne school. You will plan, assess and tailor programs to meet diverse student needs, using high-impact teaching strategies and data to inform practice.

The role supports inclusive education, with opportunities to work with Koori students, students with disabilities and the wider community. Experience with BYOD, Compass LMS and professional learning is valued.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating learning growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform practice.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and ability to establish collaborative relationships.
• Commitment to Department values and ongoing professional learning to improve teaching quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or program.
• Undertake other classroom teaching duties as directed, aligned with salary range and experience.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties.
