Job summary

Indigenous Business Growth (IBG) is partnering with a major transport infrastructure project in South East Queensland to recruit an Area Manager - Structures. The role will lead safe, commercial and program delivery of structural packages across the western area through completion and handover.

• 12+ years' major-project contractor experience, including leadership of substantial structural packages.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams and major subcontractors.
• Strong commercial, program, design and construction judgement.

Responsibilities

• Set delivery strategy, organisation, staging and resource plan for bridges, retaining structures and other structural assets.
• Lead constructability, design, temporary-works and lifting reviews.
• Own area safety, quality, cost, forecast, schedule, risk and subcontract performance.
• Coordinate interfaces with earthworks, utilities, rail, roads, services and adjacent packages.
• Drive progressive completion, defect close-out, as-builts and turnover of structural assets.

A major transport infrastructure project (valued at more than $1 billion) is underway across South East Queensland, delivering complex rail, station and civil works. Having won numerous major projects in Queensland in the past 12 months, the head contractor is seeking an Area Manager - Structures to lead safe, commercial and program delivery of structural packages across the western area through completion and handover.

Key Responsibilities
