Job summary

Indigenous Business Growth (IBG) on behalf of a major South East Queensland rail and civil works contractor is seeking a Project Engineer - Piling and Retaining Wall to lead piling and retaining-wall delivery in constrained environments.

The role requires a civil/structural/geotechnical/construction engineering degree and 5–8 years of contractor experience in piling, ground engineering or retaining structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, geotechnical or construction engineering.
• 5–8 years of contractor experience in piling, ground engineering or retaining structures.
• Current construction induction card and valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to obtain project-specific rail, site and medical competencies.
• Contractor-side experience with work packs, RFIs, ITPs, subcontractor coordination and progress measurement.

Responsibilities

• Develop piling and retaining-wall methodologies, sequence plans, platforms, access and spoil management
• Coordinate geotechnical and structural design, temporary works, proof testing, instrumentation and hold points
• Verify existing services, exclusion zones, rail clearances and working-platform certification
• Manage specialist subcontract procurement, production, quantities, submissions, variations and forecasts
• Maintain pile, anchor, wall, test, survey and as-built records

A major transport infrastructure project (valued at more than $1 billion) is underway across South East Queensland, delivering complex rail, station and civil works. Having won numerous major projects in Queensland in the past 12 months, the head contractor is seeking a Project Engineer - Piling and Retaining Wall to lead engineering delivery of piling and retaining-wall works in a constrained environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop piling and retaining-wall methodologies, sequence plans, platforms, access and spoil management

What We're Looking For
