Job summary

Amazon in Moorebank is seeking an Area Manager to lead a POD-based operations team at our Fulfillment Center. You will mentor hourly staff, drive safety, productivity and quality initiatives, and collaborate with Safety, Engineering, QA, HR, and other support teams to meet business objectives.

The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment focused on customer excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Experience in Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
• Prior management of sizable teams with motivational skills.
• Proven ability to solve problems and perform Dive Deep analysis.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, motivate and support your hourly workforce.
• Lead continuous improvement projects across Safety/Productivity/Quality.
• Become a POD processes subject matter expert.
• Maintain Health and Safety standards and promote safety culture.

We’re seeking for experienced Area Manager to join the team at our Print on Demand (Book Printing) Facility within our Fulfillment Center (FC) in Moorebank

As an Area Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining our customer expectations to ensure customer orders are delivered at the right time, to the right location.

Along with your peers, you’ll ensure that all workflows run smoothly and that customer expectations are met, if not exceeded.

Key job responsibilities

• You’ll support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce.
• You´ll work on Continuous improvement projects that address Safety/Productivity/Quality/Associate Experience opportunities
• You’ll become a subject matter expert on POD processes
• You’ll maintain Health and Safety standards, while promoting a Health and Safety culture on-site.
• You’ll collaborate with all support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, POD Global to develop plans to meet business objectives.
• You’ll manage the scraps in order to reduce them
• You’ll stand and walk for up to 10 hours during shifts.

About the team

Our World-Wide Operations network delivers millions of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. Our Operation’s workflow has three major components: First mile - where the product is housed and ready for order; Middle mile - where the order is hauled to your area; and Last mile - when the product is delivered to the customer’s door. Please note that all workflows have slight building variations, but one thing is constant: our vision and dedication to the customer.

Basic qualifications

• A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university,
• Working experience in Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field,
• Experience as a manager, involving sizable teams; you’re a natural at motivating others around you and building strong relationships,
• Demonstrate ability in problem-solving and analytical capabilities: conducting and driving Dive Deep analysis on complex processes,
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written,
• Can push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a manager in production, distribution center or logistics warehouse is a nice to have.
