The Area Manager will be responsible for improving accountability and building stronger capability across the network and its stores.
Key responsibilitiesLead the day-to-day operational performance of the Sydney store network through the Store Managers.
Maintain a regular presence across the stores and stay across store performance and operating standards.
Review sales, labour, cost of goods, rostering, ordering, waste and other relevant store performance measures.
Conduct regular store reviews, audits and spot checks across the network.
Identify operational issues early and follow corrective actions through to completion.
Build Store Manager capability across people leadership, commercial performance and day-to-day operations.
Address performance and capability issues within the scope of the role and raise material matters where required.
Monitor food safety, work health and safety, brand standards and other operational requirements relevant to the stores.
Work directly with franchisees and store operators on store performance and operational matters.
Implement Head Office initiatives, promotions and operational changes across the network.
Keep the Managing Director informed of store performance, material issues and matters requiring management input.
Work closely with the Warehouse Manager on supply, stock availability and operational issues affecting the stores.
Liaise with Finance, payroll, administration, Marketing, suppliers and other support functions where required.
Support new store openings, store transitions and other operational changes across the network.
Provide practical recommendations to the Managing Director on operational, staffing, training and process improvements.
You will ideally have:
multisite management experience within QSR, hospitality, food retail or a comparable operating environment;
experience leading Store Managers, Venue Managers or equivalent management-level employees;
practical responsibility for labour, rostering, cost control and store performance;
experience conducting store audits or operational reviews and following actions through;
experience working with franchisees, owner-operators or independently operated locations;
a track record of improving store performance or operating standards;
experience developing managers and building capability across a team;
confidence using operational reporting, rostering and point-of-sale systems;
sound judgement and the ability to make operational decisions independently;
strong written and verbal communication;
a current Australian driver licence;
reliable access to a suitable vehicle for regular travel between Sydney metropolitan stores; and
current Australian working rights.
The position is permanent full-time and primarily field based across the Sydney metropolitan store network.
A hybrid arrangement will apply for administrative and office-based work.
Hours will generally fall across the afternoon and evening/night trading period.
