Job summary

The Victorian School of Languages is seeking an Area Manager to lead several language centres across Victoria, delivering language programs to Foundation to Year 12 students. The role includes managing casual staff, coordinating centres with home schools, and ensuring effective language delivery.

Leading teachers will coordinate staff to improve teaching and learning, implement school priorities, and participate in policy development while maintaining independence to support curriculum

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum.
• Ability to lead and manage the implementation of school priorities and literacy/numeracy across the curriculum.
• Ability to plan and implement high-impact teaching strategies addressing student needs.
• Ability to monitor and assess student learning and use data to drive improvement.
• Exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills for working with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage whole-school improvement initiatives aligned with the school strategic plan.
• Coordinate curriculum planning and delivery across language centres.
• Provide professional development and coaching to teaching staff.
• Oversee staff performance and development (review processes).
• Develop and manage school policies, assessment, and reporting practices.
• Ensure compliance with child safety standards and stakeholder engagement.
