Job summary

The Victorian School of Languages (VSL) is a government school delivering language programs across Victoria. The Area Manager role covers several centres, overseeing delivery of languages curriculum to Foundation-Year 12 with casual staff and payroll management via eduPay, while coordinating with home schools and attending weekly head office meetings.

Area Managers work from Tuesday to Saturday during term time, with the office in Collingwood and regular engagement with head office for planning

Qualifications

Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum.
Ability to lead and implement school priorities, and teach literacy/numeracy across the curriculum.
Lead planning and implementation of high-impact teaching strategies.
Monitor and assess student learning and use data to drive improvement.
Model exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills for collaboration with students, staff and community.

Responsibilities

Lead whole-school improvement initiatives aligned with the strategic plan and priorities.
Coordinate curriculum planning and delivery across centres.
Oversee professional development and staff development plans.
Manage staff performance and development processes.
Develop and implement assessment and reporting policies and practices.
Oversee school operations, student welfare and discipline policies.
Lead curriculum development in major learning areas.
Contribute to school leadership and policy development.
Develop school conduct and safety policies.
