MADEC Australia is a successful community‑owned not‑for‑profit organisation with a proud 50+ year history. Employing around 180 staff nationally, MADEC delivers employment services, education, training and workforce solutions, including large‑scale labour hire operations and the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme. The organisation is undergoing an exciting phase of transformation and business growth and has a number of new positions available.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Area Manager will lead MADEC’s Employment Services operations across Shepparton and Echuca. This is a strategically important region requiring a capable, commercially minded leader who can build strong teams, embrace KPIs to drive performance and deliver high‑quality services that support participants into meaningful employment.
Based in the region and working from either the Shepparton or Echuca office, this role offers the opportunity to combine commercial acumen with genuine people leadership, shaping workplace culture, strengthening accountability and ensuring MADEC’s service delivery meets contractual, operational and community expectations.
The successful candidate will be a confident, approachable and commercially astute leader with demonstrated experience developing teams, ideally across multiple locations. Strong commercial judgement, capability in financial management, and a constructive proactive approach to coaching and performance management will be essential. Excellent communication, influencing and relationship‑building skills are expected, along with an understanding of compliance, risk management and the importance of delivering against contractual obligations.
Experience within Employment Services may be advantageous but is certainly not essential. Accordingly, leaders from other performance‑driven and resource intense industries such as Hospitality, Retail, Aged/Health Care or FMCG, who can build capability, drive results and foster positive workplace cultures are strongly encouraged to apply.
A current driver’s licence is essential. Employment screening includes a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
