Job description

Adelaide Development Corporation (ADC) is a design-led property developer delivering premium homes, residential communities and commercial developments across South Australia.

Our in-house Design Studio collaborates with our development, construction, sales and marketing teams to create considered, high-quality projects from initial concept through to delivery. We value thoughtful design and strong architectural outcomes, creating places that balance lifestyle, functionality, buildability and long-term value.

As ADC continues to grow, we are looking for someone who is passionate about residential architecture, eager to develop their skills and interested in contributing to the complete development process.

About the role

We are seeking an Architectural Designer or Graduate of Architecture with approximately two to five years of industry experience to join our in-house Design Studio.

Working closely with the Design Manager and senior team members, you will contribute to the design, development and documentation of a diverse pipeline of residential projects. These include individual homes, townhouse developments and larger masterplanned communities.

The position offers exposure to multiple stages of the project lifecycle rather than being limited to one area of production. Depending on your experience, your responsibilities will include concept design, 3D modelling and visualisation, planning documentation, construction documentation, consultant coordination, approvals and project delivery.

This opportunity would suit someone with a strong foundation in residential design who wants to broaden their technical and documentation experience while continuing to develop their design capability.

Key responsibilities
  • Contribute to residential projects from initial concept through planning, documentation and delivery.
  • Prepare concept designs, design development packages and detailed construction documentation.
  • Produce high-quality 3D models, visualisations and presentation material.
  • Assist in preparing and coordinating planning and building approval documentation.
  • Develop technically resolved designs that consider buildability, materials, detailing and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with structural, civil, energy, landscape and other specialist consultants.
  • Work collaboratively with ADC’s design, development, construction, sales and marketing teams.
  • Manage competing priorities across multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support the Design Manager and senior team members throughout the design and delivery process.
  • Take increasing ownership of projects as your experience and capabilities develop.
About you

You will ideally have:

  • Approximately two to five years’ experience in residential architecture, building design or a related environment.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in architecture, architectural design or a related discipline.
  • Strong residential design capability, including an understanding of proportion, planning, materiality and contemporary housing design.
  • Experience progressing projects from concept design through planning and documentation.
  • A sound understanding of construction documentation, detailing and residential buildability, with a desire to continue developing these skills.
  • Strong 3D modelling and visual communication skills.
  • Experience using Archicad is highly regarded. Applicants experienced in comparable BIM or design software who are willing to learn Archicad are also encouraged to apply.
  • Working knowledge of the National Construction Code, relevant Australian Standards, and South Australian planning and building approval processes.
  • The ability to coordinate effectively with consultants across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear and confident communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working within a small design team and broader development business.
  • Australian residential project experience is strongly preferred.
What we offer

This is an opportunity to join a growing, design-led property development business and gain exposure well beyond traditional architectural documentation.

You will work directly with experienced design and development professionals, contribute to projects from early design through construction, and build your capabilities across design, documentation, consultant coordination and project delivery.

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong design instincts and a willingness to learn someone who wants to take greater ownership of projects as their experience develops.
