Job description

The Opportunity:

Are you an experienced Project Architect ready to take the next step in your career, with the potential to play a leading role in the future of an established regional architectural practice?

This is a rare opportunity to join a respected, long-standing practice in the Central Tablelands, where you can combine high-quality architectural work with a genuine opportunity for future leadership and succession.

As part of the business's long-term planning, the practice is seeking an experienced architect who can contribute to its continued success, build strong client relationships and, over time, take on greater responsibility in the running and future direction of the business.

Whether you're originally from the region and looking to return for family reasons, or a metro-based professional considering a lifestyle change, this role offers the opportunity to build a rewarding long-term career in a beautiful regional setting.

The Practice:

Our client is an established architectural practice with a strong regional presence and a diverse portfolio spanning education, healthcare, aged care, commercial, government and other building sectors.

With a history of delivering projects that respond to the needs of their clients and communities, the practice offers the opportunity to work across a varied range of projects while developing meaningful, long-term professional relationships.

The Role:

Working closely with the existing leadership team, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of architectural projects from design development through to documentation, consultant coordination and construction.

Beyond project delivery, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the broader business, develop client relationships and gradually assume greater leadership responsibility as part of the practice's succession planning.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading architectural projects from concept through to construction.
  • Managing design development, documentation and project delivery.
  • Coordinating consultants, clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Managing project programmes, budgets, quality and statutory requirements.
  • Maintaining and developing strong client relationships.
  • Mentoring and supporting other team members.
  • Contributing to business development, practice management and long-term strategic planning as your role evolves.
To Be Successful:

You’ll be an experienced Project Architect who combines strong technical capability with sound project management skills and the confidence to work directly with clients and consultants.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • A recognised architecture qualification, and ideally registration as an Architect in NSW.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects through all stages of the architectural process.
  • Strong documentation, consultant coordination and construction-phase experience.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, commercially aware approach and an interest in contributing beyond project delivery.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • A genuine succession pathway. This is more than a Project Architect position. It offers the potential to grow into a significant leadership role as part of the business's long-term plans.
  • A lifestyle change without sacrificing career progression. Enjoy the benefits of regional living, including a more relaxed pace, reduced commuting pressures and the opportunity to create a better balance between work and personal life.
  • Meaningful project variety. Work across a diverse portfolio of building types, with the opportunity to maintain a broad architectural skill set.
  • An established platform for your future. Join a practice with an existing reputation, client relationships and foundations on which to build your next career chapter.
