Thales Group in Sydney at Woolloomooloo's Garden Island invites applications for an Apprentice Shipwright to commence and complete a Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction. You will learn to perform a range of work including docking and undocking vessels and ship repair tasks.

As a first-year apprentice you will gain hands-on experience while developing literacy, numeracy, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced marine environment with safety at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Interest in maritime or previous work around ships/boats.
• Sound literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assisting a team in docking and undocking vessels.
• Set up of docking cradle for vessels of various sizes.
• All aspects of ship repair and maintenance.
