Job summary

Thales in Sydney offers a four-year traineeship located at Garden Island, Woolloomooloo, focusing on the Advanced Diploma of Engineering (Mechanical). You will learn through hands-on work installing naval equipment and supporting shipboard systems.

During the program you will test and commission equipment, perform fault analysis, and conduct repairs, while developing communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Completed a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.
• Genuine interest in gaining an Advanced Diploma.
• Demonstrated mechanical and/or technical aptitude.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with a diverse range of people.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, at Heights and in Confined Spaces.

Responsibilities

• Installation of naval equipment in shore and ship borne environments.
• Testing and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems on naval vessels.
• Fault analysis of commercial and military mechanical weapons equipment and systems.
• Conducting repairs to mechanical systems.
