Job summary

Skillinvest is seeking a motivated Plastering Apprentice to join a host business in Ararat. This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills, gain industry experience, and work alongside experienced tradespeople within the building and construction industry.

With a full-time apprenticeship commencing in February 2027, you will gain hands-on experience on modern builds and heritage restoration projects, while learning the plastering trade in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in learning the plastering trade.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to completing an apprenticeship.
• Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual work.
• Current driver’s licence (or close to obtaining) and reliable transport.
• White Card (Construction Induction Card) or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified plasterers with installing walls and ceilings.
• Measure, cut and fit plasterboard and other materials.
• Prepare surfaces and apply plaster and finishing products.
• Use hand and power tools safely while maintaining a clean worksite.
• Gain experience working on modern builds and heritage restoration projects, helping to preserve and repair historic buildings and decorative plaster features.
