Green Care Plus PTY LTD in Bowral, NSW is seeking a passionate Apprentice Parks & Gardens (Horticulturalist) to join our team. This full-time apprenticeship provides comprehensive training in horticulture and landscape maintenance, working with experienced professionals to build practical skills in garden design, plant care, soil management and landscape construction.

You will help with planting, pruning, lawn care and site preparation while learning health and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Interest in plants, horticulture and outdoor work.
• Willingness to undertake formal horticultural qualifications.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Good communication and team collaboration.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Full, clean driver’s licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, planting and maintenance of parks, gardens and landscapes.
• Learn plant propagation, cultivation and care techniques.
• Prepare soil and plant trees, shrubs and flowers.
• Operate and maintain landscaping tools safely.
• Perform garden tasks including weeding, pruning and lawn care.
• Learn pest and disease identification and management.
• Support landscape construction and hardscaping projects.
• Assist with site prep and landscape restoration.
• Maintain health and safety standards and professional presentation.

Green Care Plus PTY LTD is seeking a passionate and dedicated Apprentice Parks & Gardens (Horticulturalist) to join our team in Bowral, NSW. This is a full-time apprenticeship opportunity that will provide you with comprehensive training in horticulture and landscape maintenance. You will work alongside experienced professionals to develop practical skills in garden design, plant care, soil management, and landscape construction. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of green spaces across our service areas and offers an excellent foundation for a rewarding career in the horticulture industry.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting with the design, planting and maintenance of parks, gardens and landscaped areas
• Learning and applying proper plant propagation, cultivation and care techniques
• Preparing soil, planting trees, shrubs, flowers and other vegetation
• Operating and maintaining landscaping equipment and tools safely and effectively
• Performing garden maintenance tasks including weeding, pruning, hedge trimming and lawn care
• Learning about pest and disease identification and management in plants
• Assisting with landscape construction projects and hardscaping installations
• Supporting the team with site preparation and landscape restoration work
• Maintaining workplace safety standards and following all health and safety protocols
• Contributing to the professional presentation and upkeep of outdoor spaces
