Job summary

NEPEAN Conveyors in Mackay, QLD is inviting applicants to join their 2027 Apprentice Mechanical Fitter intake. This fixed‑term apprenticeship runs up to four years, with learning in assembly, disassembly, maintenance and overhaul of underground mining materials handling equipment.

You will work in a busy Mackay workshop, gaining hands‑on skills and safety practises while progressing toward a qualified fitter.

Qualifications

• Year 12 completion required.
• Mechanical aptitude and practical hands‑on mindset.
• Willingness to learn and work in a busy workshop.
• Safety conscious with ability to follow WHS practices.

Responsibilities

• Learn assembly, disassembly, maintenance and overhaul of underground mining equipment.
• Assist with reading blueprints, drawings and specifications for job requirements.
• Operate and handle workshop tools and basic machinery under supervision.
• Contribute to day‑to‑day workshop duties and keep records of hours.
