Job summary

GrainCorp in Mackay, QLD is seeking a permanent Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance across fixed and mobile plant, with on-call rosters to support operations.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant trade certificate, demonstrate fault-finding skills, and uphold a safety‑first approach while communicating effectively across shifts. Onsite site travel and varied tasks are involved.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in mechanical, fitting and turning, boiler maker or similar.
• Proven fault-finding abilities with a safety-first mindset.
• Strong time management and reliable communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Fault find and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Attend to equipment breakdowns as required.
• Prepare maintenance reports and record keeping in SAP.
