Job summary

Apprentice Technician – Engineering Mechanical Fitter based in Adelaide, Australia, offers hands-on experience rebuilding and remanufacturing heavy mining equipment components while completing a trade qualification in a modern workshop.

You will work with experienced tradespeople with ongoing training, mentorship, and exposure to a wide range of equipment and processes, starting Monday 18th January 2027 in a safety-focused team.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in, or committed to completing, a Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical).
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to follow instructions and complete documentation accurately.
  • Interest in mechanical equipment and a willingness to learn the use of hand tools and workshop practices.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work safely within a team environment and follow workplace procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning, professional development and completing formal trade training.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with a positive and proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the assembly and disassembly of heavy equipment components.
  • Support the inspection, cleaning, assessment and remanufacture of components to required specifications and quality standards.
  • Follow established operating, maintenance and safe work procedures at all times.
  • Operate workshop plant and equipment in line with training and competency levels.
  • Complete required trade training, maintain training records and actively participate in on-the-job learning.
  • Contribute to a safe, clean and efficient work environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
