Job summary

Berendsen Fluid Power in Sydney's Wetherill Park is seeking an Apprentice Fitter & Machinist to start in December/January, gaining hands-on experience repairing and rebuilding hydraulic cylinders in a workshop designed for large-scale equipment.

The role includes mentorship through the Elevate Apprenticeship Program, structured learning via the Elevate Academy, and rotations across Questas Group branches to build a comprehensive skillset.

Qualifications

• Year 10 high school certificate minimum.
• Interest in how machines and mechanical systems work.
• Comfortable with maths and hands-on tasks.
• Careful and precise; accuracy matters in this trade.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside senior fitters and machinists on hydraulic cylinder repair and rebuild.
• Learn to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Assist with inspection, disassembly, and reassembly of hydraulic cylinders.
• Get hands-on with stripping benches, honing equipment, and hydraulic test rigs.

Berendsen Fluid Power – Wetherill Park NSW

Berendsen's Perth Airport branch operates from a custom-built workshop within the Perth International Airport precinct. The branch is built to handle heavy-duty hydraulic equipment for Western Australia's toughest industries.

We're looking for an Apprentice Fitter & Machinist to join the Wetherill Park team in Sydney, starting December/January. You'll get hands-on exposure to hydraulic cylinder repair and rebuild, working alongside experienced technicians in a workshop built for large-scale, heavy-duty equipment - plus exposure to the branch's cylinder service exchange program, which keeps a substantial inventory of refurbished cylinders moving to minimise customer downtime.

You won't be figuring this out on your own. Through our Elevate Apprenticeship Program, you'll have a mentor in your corner, structured learning through the Elevate Academy, and a wider community of apprentices across Questas Group going through the same journey.
