Swanson Industries in Mackay is offering an Apprentice Fitter & Machinist role as part of the Elevate Apprenticeship Program. You will learn hands-on in our workshop, repairing hydraulic cylinders for high-load mining equipment, under the guidance of experienced fitters and machinists.

The program provides mentorship, structured learning through the Elevate Academy, and a community of apprentices across Questas Group to support your development into a skilled tradesperson.

Responsibilities

About the Opportunity

Swanson Industries has spent more than 70 years solving hydraulic problems for heavy industry - growing into a specialist in cylinder manufacturing, repair, and surface technology trusted across mining, defence, marine, and agriculture.

We're looking for an Apprentice Fitter & Machinist to join our Lambton team, starting December/January. Our Mackay workshop specialises in hydraulic cylinder repair, rebuild, and maintenance for high-load applications used in the mining and industrial equipment that keeps operations across Central Queensland running. You'll be learning the trade hands-on, working through inspection, precision machining, and reassembly on components that can't afford to fail.

You won't be figuring this out on your own. Through our Elevate Apprenticeship Program, you'll have a mentor in your corner, structured learning through the Elevate Academy, and a wider community of apprentices across Questas Group going through the same journey.

Your Responsibilities
