Job summary

JBS Riverina Plant, located near Leeton in the Riverina region of New South Wales, is recruiting an Apprentice Electrician to join the Maintenance team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, you will support plant electrical assets in a beef processing environment close to home.

This is an excellent chance to start your apprenticeship with a global organisation at a local level, with opportunities to learn on the job and at TAFE as required.

Qualifications

• On-the-job and off-the-job training will be completed.
• Demonstrated interest in the trade and safety awareness.
• Willingness to work under supervision and follow tradespeople.
• TAFE attendance is required as part of the program.

About UsJBS Australia, part of the global JBS business, is the largest and most respected meat and food processor in Australia with a strong portfolio of leading beef, lamb, pork, salmon and value-added products. Our Northern division operates five beef processing plants across Queensland and Northern NSW, producing more than 400,000 tonnes of beef products every year.

Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Plant is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere.

Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), our location ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 420 team members with a processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.

About the RoleThe JBS Riverina Plant is currently recruiting an Apprentice Electrician to join the Maintenance team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, you will provide support across the Plant to ensure the availability, reliability and capability of plant assets in a beef processing environment.
