Job summary

Westgold Resources is inviting applications for an Apprentice Electrician to join our Western Australia operations on a fixed plant maintenance team. Commencing January 2027, you will work with experienced tradespeople and gain real‑world exposure across our mining operations.

You will develop hands-on skills on industry‑leading equipment, supported throughout your apprenticeship journey, with an 8/6 roster and a commitment to safety and career growth.

Qualifications

• From diverse backgrounds with digital and numerical literacy.
• Must have current C-Class driver's licence and National Police Clearance.
• Relevant pre-trade qualifications or work experience in mechanical/electrical fields are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior electricians and tradespeople on site with maintenance tasks.
• Gain hands-on experience with industry-leading equipment and learn electrical trades.
• Support the team across Westgold's mining operations during the apprenticeship.

Westgold Resources is shaping the future of gold mining in Western Australia and is looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as an Apprentice Electrician.

As an Apprentice Electrician, you will work alongside experienced tradespeople, gain hands‑on experience on industry‑leading equipment, and develop the skills needed for a successful long‑term career in mining. You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship journey and will gain real‑world exposure across our mining operations.

Commencing in January 2027, Westgold offers multiple opportunities for both entry‑level and mature‑age apprentices to join our Fixed Plant Maintenance teams on a family‑friendly 8/6 roster.

What are we looking for in an apprentice?

• That have an affinity for understanding how things work and wanting to solve problems

Essential attributes:

• The right to work in Australia
• Current C‑Class driver’s licence

Additional desirable attributes:

• Pre‑trade qualifications in mechanical engineering, automotive or electrical
• Work experience in mechanical engineering, automotive, electrical or trade assisting
• Mathematics and/or physics at senior high school
