Job summary

Business NSW is seeking an Apprentice Advisor – Woman in Male Dominated Trades for Apprenticeship Support Australia, based in NSW offices. You will support apprentices and trainees, providing guidance to help them complete their apprenticeships and thrive in the workplace.

You will build relationships, connect individuals with the right support, and advise employers on coaching, induction, and best practices while ensuring accurate data management.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in customer service, sales, business development and/or account management.
• Unrestricted Australian Driving Licence and own vehicle.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to set goals, organise workload, prioritise, meet deadlines and see tasks through to conclusion.
• Excellent computer literacy and keyboard skills.
• Understanding of issues faced by women in trades and/or male dominated work environments.

Responsibilities

• Working with new apprentices and trainees to help them overcome challenges transitioning to the workplace.
• Assisting apprentices facing personal or workplace pressures and helping them build relationships with employers and co-workers.
• Supporting conflict resolution and other workplace-related issues affecting performance and productivity.
• Providing referral services to mental health providers, literacy/numeracy tools, counselling or other specialist services.
• Advising employers on induction best practices and coaching/mentoring strategies for apprentice success.
• Accurate and time-sensitive data collection and quality data management.

Job description

We are currently seeking an Apprentice Advisor –Woman in Male Dominated Trades to join Apprenticeship Support Australia, based in one of our New South Wales offices.

In this role, you will support apprentices and trainees from a wide range of backgrounds, providing guidance and encouragement to help them successfully complete their apprenticeship. You will play a key role in building strong relationships, identifying challenges, and connecting individuals with the support they need to thrive.

We are looking for a people-focused, friendly, motivated, and confident individual who is passionate about supporting others and will thrive in an advisory role.

Main responsibilities include:

Working with new apprentices and trainees to help them overcome the challenges associated with transitioning to the workplace, and balancing work and studies.

Helping apprentices and trainees who may be under pressures in their personal life, experiencing workplace challenges or struggling to build relationships with their employers and co-workers.

Supporting resolving conflict and other workplace related issues which may be impacting performance and productivity.

Providing referral services to mental health providers, language literacy and numeracy tools, counselling services or other specialist services.

Advising employers on strategies to ensure their apprentice receives the best practice induction when they start, and tactics for coaching and mentoring them to success.

Accurate and time sensitive data collection and quality data management.
