Job summary

Business NSW is recruiting an Apprentice Advisor – First Nations reporting to the Area Manager for First Nations, based in our Parramatta office. The role involves traveling around Western Sydney and surrounding areas including Wollongong to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, guiding them to successfully complete their apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in customer service, sales, business development and/or account management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to set goals, organise own workload, prioritise, meet deadlines, and see tasks through to conclusion.

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined caseload of First Nations Australian Apprentices and meet retention objectives.
• Maintain caseload within the designated territory.
• Conduct servicing contacts for Key Client Group apprentices as per guidelines.
• Liaise with Apprentices, Employers and Parents per mentoring plan.
• Conduct prospecting calls to at-risk apprentices to enter MPSS and meet targets.
• Support apprentices through workplace transition and study challenges.
• Provide referrals to mental health providers, literacy/numeracy tools, counseling or other services.
• Advise employers on induction, coaching and mentoring for apprentices.
