Job summary

Peoplebank is seeking an experienced Application Security Architect in Melbourne CBD, offering a permanent hybrid role with an up to $240k package. The role combines security architecture with development/DevSecOps, working closely with engineering teams to embed security throughout the delivery lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has strong AS architecture experience, API security expertise, and threat modelling skills, with Agile delivery experience. Melbourne CBD, hybrid 2–3 days in the office.

Application Security Architect
Melbourne CBD | Hybrid (2 to 3 Days) | Permanent | Up to $240k Package

We are seeking an experienced Application Security Architect to join a leading Australian Financial Services organisation (Superannuation & Retirement Funds) undergoing significant technology and digital transformation.

This role is ideal for someone who combines security architecture expertise with a strong application development / DevSecops background and enjoys working closely with engineering teams to embed security throughout the delivery lifecycle.

This is not a pure governance or review role. We are looking for someone who can engage with engineers, understand modern development practices, and provide practical security guidance that enables delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct threat modelling and security risk assessments
• Provide security architecture guidance across applications, APIs, web and mobile platforms
• Embed security into solution design and software delivery processes
• Support DevSecOps and secure engineering practices
• Partner with architects, developers, and delivery teams to deliver secure outcomes

About You

• Strong Application Security Architecture experience
• Background in Application Development, Software Engineering, or DevSecOps
• Experience with API security and threat modelling
• Ability to balance security requirements with delivery outcomes
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience working in Agile environments
