Job summary

Whizdom is seeking an API Technical Lead in Sydney to drive end-to-end API delivery for a major Australian financial services engagement. You will define requirements, craft solution documentation, design scalable integrations, and mentor teams within an Agile environment.

Ideal candidates bring strong Java/Spring expertise, hands-on API design skills, and proven success delivering complex banking projects with effective stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Strong API framework and integration design experience.
• Experience delivering technology projects in banking.
• Previous experience within the end client’s technology environment is mandatory.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive the end-to-end technical delivery of the program.
• Participate in requirements discussions with business stakeholders.
• Finalise functional specifications and interface documentation.
• Work with business teams to define functional requirements for new services.
• Coordinate technical and stakeholder reviews and sign-offs.
• Document and communicate changes within a team-based Agile delivery structure.
• Produce API requirements, designs, and functional specifications.
• Design robust, scalable interfaces that integrate varied systems and technologies.
• Collaborate with development teams on technical ideas and applications.
• Support internal and external consultants across workshops, consulting assignments, and delivery engagements.
• Mentor junior consultants in technical practices and delivery.
• Proactively remediate software issues involving code quality, security, frameworks, and design patterns.
