Job summary

FinXL IT Professional Services is seeking a Delivery Lead/Iteration Manager to join our Sydney/Melbourne based practice, driving delivery for core general insurance applications on-site with a major insurer. You will lead cross-functional squads, facilitate Agile ceremonies, and partner with Product Owners and Architects to ensure timely releases.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in Agile delivery, domain knowledge of General Insurance, and strong Jira/Confluence

Qualifications

• Strong experience delivering software or systems delivery teams using Agile methods.
• Knowledge of General Insurance applications, policy administration, claims systems, or financial platforms is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to track delivery progress, blockers, risks, and dependences.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Iteration Management and Agile ceremonies (Stand-ups, Planning, Backlog Refinement, Retrospectives).
• Drive squad execution, sprint velocity, and burn-down metrics in Jira.
• Identify and clear delivery blockers, dependencies, and friction points.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and Engineering Leads to align release priorities.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing squad culture focused on quality and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated, delivery-focused Delivery Lead/ Iteration Manager to join our consulting practice in Sydney OR Melbourne.

Working directly on-site with major general insurance client, you will lead cross-functional technology squads to drive the continuous delivery, enhancement, and performance of core general insurance applications and systems. This role offers an exceptional platform for candidates with delivery experience for local and newly arrived in Australia.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate core Iteration Management and Agile ceremonies (Stand-ups, Planning, Backlog Refinement, Retrospectives).

Drive squad execution, tracking delivery flow, sprint velocity, and burn-down metrics in Jira.

Proactively identify and clear delivery blockers, technical dependencies, and friction points.

Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and Engineering Leads to ensure alignment on release priorities.

Foster a collaborative, high-performing squad culture focused on quality and continuous improvement.

Key Criteria & Requirements

Agile Execution: Demonstrated experience as a Delivery Lead, Iteration Manager, or Scrum Master guiding software or systems delivery teams.

Domain Aptitude: General understanding of General Insurance applications, policy administration, claims systems, or financial platforms is highly desirable.

Tooling: Strong hands-on experience using Jira and Confluence for sprint management and progress tracking.

Contract Duration: Initial 12 months' contract, with a view to extend.

Location: Sydney or Melbourne CBD

Working arrangement: Hybrid working arrangement (2-3 days in the office)
