Job summary

Susquehanna International Group, LLP is seeking a Payroll Officer to own monthly outsourced payroll processing for Japan, Singapore, and Shanghai, with future scope to include Hong Kong and India. The role offers the possibility of full-time or a four-day week.

You will liaise with external payroll vendors across time zones, ensure accuracy, and maintain compliant, timely payroll. You will also support reporting and data privacy controls across the APAC region.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing outsourced/third-party payroll providers.
• Strong attention to detail and data validation.
• Ability to manage multiple country deadlines and priorities.
• Comfortable working with payroll vendors across different time zones.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and payroll/HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly outsourced payroll for Japan, Singapore, and Shanghai with vendors.
• Review and validate payroll inputs (new starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses) before submission.
• Check payroll outputs for accuracy and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
• Reconcile payroll reports with internal records and GL entries.
• Ensure payroll is processed in line with country deadlines and requirements.
• Respond to employee payroll queries promptly.
• Support statutory reporting, filings, and year-end processes via outsourced providers.
• Maintain accurate payroll records in line with data privacy and audit requirements.
• Build relationships with HR, Finance, and payroll partners.
• Learn Hong Kong and India payroll as scope expands.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls.
• Assist during peak periods and cross-training.
