Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Director - Cyber Operations based in Australia to lead a cross-functional APAC cyber team. You will oversee threat intel, SOC, IR, and detection engineering, shaping strategy and operations for a globally connected organization.

As Incident Commander during major security events, you will drive decisive action, coordinate cross-team responses, and mentor leaders while aligning security priorities with business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cybersecurity with 5+ years in leadership.
• Experience across SOC, incident response, threat intel, or detection.
• Strong knowledge of SIEM, EDR, NDR and cloud security.
• Familiar with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, ISO 27001.
• Excellent decision-making under pressure and communication with execs.
• Degree in Cybersecurity or related field.
• Certs like CISSP or GIAC are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead Cyber Operations across APAC including threat intel, SOC, IR, and detection.
• Act as Incident Commander during major incidents.
• Oversee daily operations: workload, SLAs, scheduling.
• Coach and develop team members.
• Communicate risks and trends to executives.
• Monitor KPIs and align with business priorities.
• Set quarterly objectives and allocate resources.
• Partner with security and business teams on tooling.
• Foster accountability and continuous improvement.
