Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a capital markets operations professional for its APAC team in Sydney. The role covers trade support, settlement, reconciliation, and governance, with exposure to client relationships and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work in a dynamic, global environment, supporting the trade lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with guidelines, and contributing to process improvements within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/University degree required. Typically 3+ years of relevant experience in capital markets, brokerage operations, trade support, or a related operational environment.
• Experience with capital markets operations, trade processing, settlement, reconciliation and related controls.
• Awareness of regional regulatory requirements and ability to work within guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs capital markets operations activities across trade support, settlement, reconciliation, and related processes.
• Supports APAC domicile client base and inbound APAC execution from global clients.
• Analyzes transactions and resolves straightforward operational issues with judgement.
• Monitors progress against timelines and communicates status to peers and managers.
• Identifies opportunities to improve workflows and controls.
• Mentors newer team members and supports documentation.
