Lightsource bp is seeking a Category Procurement Manager, BESS (APAC) to lead procurement for Battery Energy Storage Systems across the APAC region, collaborating with project teams to deliver on time and within budget. Qualifications

• Strong understanding of renewable energy procurement requirements in APAC.
• Experience in BESS procurement preferred.
• Proven ability to develop procurement and supply chain strategies.
• Experience in supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management.
• Able to analyze data, identify root causes, and present solutions.
• Knowledge of regional/regulatory requirements and best practices in APAC.

Responsibilities

• Update and implement APAC BESS category strategy including battery cells, PCS and EMS.
• Develop contracting strategies tailored to APAC BESS market with pricing, delivery, and quality targets.
• Generate regular category performance reports and assist in budgeting and incentives.
• Identify new suppliers and manage prequalification processes.
• Assess supply chain risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
• Lead RFP processes and select suppliers offering best long-term value.
• Negotiate supply contracts considering project requirements and regulatory conditions.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure aligned contract terms and risk allocation.
• Provide status reports and manage logistics and import/export requirements.
