Job summary

The Salvation Army in Sydney, NSW seeks a values-driven AOD Support Worker to provide recovery-oriented support in a participant-led service. This part-time role (three days a week) is based in Surry Hills and requires a minimum Certificate 4 in relevant work, a NSW driver’s licence, and experience with AOD.

You will implement risk management, run daily programs focusing on health and education, maintain records, support medication self-administration, and work with staff to progress treatment

• Collaborate with staff to ensure continuity of care and progress on treatment goals.
• Maintain accurate records, complete incident reports, and uphold compliance standards.
• Support medication self-administration and conduct drug testing.
• Identify service gaps and contribute to continuous improvement.

About the role

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Support Worker to provide effective support to Participants ensuring a safe and structured environment is maintained in accordance with TSA guidelines, within a Participant lead recovery-based service. This is a part time (3 days a week) position based in Surry Hills, Sydney, NSW.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 3.

What you will bring Minimum Certificate 4 qualification relevant to the work performed and or equivalent previous experience in relevant industry, and/or on the job training A current and valid

First Aid Certificate A current NSW drivers licence Experience working with people with AOD and Co-occurring issues AOD Certificate 4 Core unit AOD Skill set or willingness to undertake if required
