Job summary

The Salvation Army in Mildura, VIC is seeking an Alcohol & Other Drugs Practitioner to join a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based counselling and recovery-focused interventions. This permanent full-time role reports to the Mallee Non-Residential AOD Team Leader and supports individuals, families and communities toward sustainable recovery.

You will work on-site in Mildura with trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches, collaborating across services to improve wellbeing and reduce

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or a related discipline (minimum Diploma in Community Services)
• Experience in alcohol and other drug services, counselling, case management or the broader community services sector
• Knowledge of recovery-oriented, strengths-based and trauma-informed practice
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to manage a diverse caseload while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• A current Victorian Driver’s Licence
• A current Employee Working with Children Check
• An AOD Skill Set qualification, or the willingness to obtain it within your first 12 months

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive AOD assessments and recovery planning
• Deliver evidence-based counselling and therapeutic interventions
• Provide strengths-based, trauma-informed case management
• Support clients and families to achieve sustainable recovery
• Connect clients with health, housing and community support services
• Work collaboratively with community partners across the Mallee region, including Swan Hill, Mildura, Gannawarra and Buloke
