The Salvation Army Australia is seeking an AOD Case Worker at our Mount Isa Recovery Services Centre to support adults in a residential recovery program. You will work with participants to identify strengths, set recovery goals and implement practical strategies to improve health and wellbeing.

You will deliver individual case management, group programs and evidence-based therapies, while coordinating referrals within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs or related qualification (or relevant industry experience).
• Experience in AOD services, case management or community services.
• Knowledge of harm minimisation, trauma-informed practice and recovery‑oriented care.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload while working within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsabilités

• Conduct comprehensive AOD assessments, screening and risk evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualised treatment and recovery plans.
• Deliver strengths-based, trauma-informed case management and ongoing support.
• Apply evidence-based therapeutic approaches (MI, CBT, ACT, mindfulness, relapse prevention).
• Coordinate referrals and collaborate with mental health, medical and specialist services.
• Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational group programs, incl. Foundations Program.
• Support participants to strengthen life skills and coping strategies for long-term recovery.
• Maintain accurate case notes and documentation per policies and legislation.
• Promote culturally safe, inclusive and person-centred practice, esp. with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
