Job summary

The EALD and Aboriginal Languages Unit, within the Curriculum Directorate of Curriculum and Learning Division, supports Aboriginal Community aspirations to see their languages in South Australian public schools.

The Project Officer – Aṉangu Bilingual Education is responsible for working with Aṉangu Schools and ACCOs to develop and implement approaches and resources that help students develop Pitjantjatjara, Yankunytjatjara or Southern Pitjantjatjara language and culture.

Qualifications

• Essential: A tertiary qualification in education and current full teacher registration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement approaches and resources that support students to develop Pitjantjatjara, Yankunytjatjara or Southern Pitjantjatjara language and culture.
• Support Aṉangu Educators, Coordinators, teachers and leaders to build capabilities to effectively teach first language literacy and learning through professional learning and advice to schools.
• Help non-Aṉangu staff build Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara language and cultural awareness.
