Somerset College on the Gold Coast seeks an Alumni and Events Coordinator to join the Community Engagement team. You will lead alumni communications, event administration, online ticketing and stakeholder engagement to deliver signature Somerset events.

Somerset College is seeking an Alumni and Events Coordinator to join our Community Engagement team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and relationship-focused professional who enjoys building meaningful connections and delivering exceptional experiences. Reporting to the Head of Community Engagement, you will play a key role in strengthening alumni engagement, supporting fundraising initiatives and coordinating a range of College events and activities.
Working collaboratively across the College, you will be responsible for alumni communications, event administration, online ticketing, stakeholder engagement and supporting the successful delivery of signature Somerset events. This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by fostering lifelong connections between alumni and the Somerset community.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will support alumni engagement, event delivery and community initiatives that strengthen connections across the Somerset community.
Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni, past and current families, staff, students and community partners.
Coordinate alumni functions, events and engagement activities in line with the alumni engagement strategy.
Act as a key point of contact for alumni enquiries, communications and community engagement initiatives.
Provide secretariat support to the Somerset Alumni Association Committee, including agendas, minutes and action tracking.
Assist with the coordination and administration of major College events and festivals.
Administer event ticketing systems, attendance records, reporting and reconciliations.
Prepare and maintain event documentation, run sheets, contact lists and event records.
Support alumni, fundraising and philanthropic engagement initiatives.
Assist with newsletters, social media content, publications, promotional materials and event collateral.
Coordinate volunteers and assist with stakeholder, sponsor and VIP engagement requirements.
Maintain archives and support the digitisation of historical College records.
Support event delivery, including occasional evening and weekend functions.
You are a proactive and customer-focused professional who thrives on building relationships, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality experiences. You bring strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a genuine passion for community engagement.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Experience in alumni relations, community engagement, events, hospitality or a similar stakeholder-focused role.
Demonstrated event coordination and administration experience.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
High attention to detail and strong administrative capabilities.
Confidence using digital systems, databases and the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience with Canva, social media platforms or digital communications will be highly regarded.
The ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
A flexible and adaptable approach, including availability to support occasional evening and weekend events.
A current Blue Card and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate, or the ability to obtain these.
