Job summary

Somerset College on the Gold Coast seeks a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to support marketing, communications and community engagement objectives. You will help implement the strategy, coordinate campaigns, create content and manage brand application across digital and print channels.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the implementation of Somerset College's marketing and communications strategies, campaigns and annual action plans.
  • Create and deliver engaging content across digital, print and stakeholder communication channels, ensuring brand consistency and message alignment.
  • Coordinate the production of key College publications, marketing collateral, media opportunities and communication materials.
  • Manage and support digital marketing initiatives, including website content, social media, digital advertising, SEO/SEM and audience engagement activities.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyse marketing data and provide insights to support continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to facilitate the timely delivery of marketing and communications projects.
  • Support community engagement, alumni relations and storytelling initiatives that enhance the College's reputation and strengthen stakeholder connections.
  • Promote and protect the Somerset College brand through effective internal communications, reputation management and marketing best practice.
  • Maintain brand standards across all marketing and communication materials, ensuring consistency of messaging and visual identity.

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the delivery of Somerset College's marketing, communications and community engagement objectives.

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator supports the implementation of Somerset College’s marketing and communications strategy, coordinating campaigns, content, digital channels publications, promotions activity and brand application in accordance with priorities established by the Head of Community Engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate the implementation of Somerset College's marketing and communications strategies, campaigns and annual action plans.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and take pride in delivering high‑quality marketing and communications initiatives that strengthen brand reputation and showcase the exceptional Somerset College experience. In addition to this, the successful candidate will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing and communication, ideally within an education, not-for-profit or service-based environment.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, content creation, communications and brand management.
  • Experience using marketing analytics and reporting tools to measure campaign effectiveness and inform future strategies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Demonstrated integrity, reliability, adaptability, discretion and resilience.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Current Working with Children Blue Card or the ability to obtain.
  • Physical capacity to participate in a dynamic school environment and undertake occasional manual tasks associated with marketing and event activities.
