Job summary

GKR Transport is seeking an experienced Allocator at our Villawood depot in NSW to lead the day-to-day driver operations and work closely with the Operations Team and Drivers.

You will be on the floor and in the office, coordinating multiple drivers, consignments and vehicles to ensure on-time and safe deliveries for our customers, with a strong emphasis on safety, relationship building and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• Leadership and people management experience.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Knowledge of CoR, WHS, driving hours and fatigue management.
• Familiarity with the Melbourne metro area.
• Experience in fast-paced roles coordinating a large fleet.
• Ability to work on the floor and in office with drivers and ops teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage day-to-day driver operations.
• Engage with truck drivers and operations support on the floor and in the office.
• Coordinate multiple drivers, consignments and vehicles.
• Audit and problem-solve transport and logistics issues.
• Allocate administration tasks.
• Facilitate communication between Local Drivers and delivery locations to ensure timely and safe deliveries.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Allocator to join our business at our Villawood depot based in NSW to work closely with our Operations Team and Drivers.

Location: Villawood, NSW
Shift Timing: Monday to Friday 6am - 3pm

About the role:

Utilising your leadership skills to supervise and manage our day-to-day driver operations

Not your typical office-based role – You will be out on the floor and in office talking with our truck drivers and operations support team to ensure our customers consignments are fulfilled and delivered on time.

Working in a busy environment whilst coordinating multiple drivers, consignments and vehicles.

Using your transport and logistics knowledge to audit and problem solve.

Allocating Administration.

Key Requirements:

The ability to build and nurture strong relationships

Strong work ethic and pose a “Can do” attitude with a focus on safety.

Legal & WHS knowledge regarding CoR, driving hours and fatigue management

Extensive knowledge of the Melbourne metro area.

Desired experience in fast paced role allocating a large fleet of different trucks

Strong verbal communication, exceptional planning and problem-solving skills

Resilience, passion, and ability to work under pressure and prioritise.

A high level of motivation and energy with a strong focus business to business relationships
