Job summary

Aspire Therapy Alliance is seeking an Allied Health Assistant to support Speech Pathologists in delivering paediatric therapy programs and preparing engaging activities for children. You will contribute to a collaborative clinic environment on the Mid North Coast, Forster/Tuncurry.

The role focuses on assisting with sessions, preparing materials, and supporting families, with opportunities for mentorship and professional development in a friendly, coastal community.

Qualifications

• Experience with children in school or preschool settings.
• Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or Speech Pathology studies.
• Commitment to evidence-based, client-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver face-to-face therapy sessions based on programs developed by the supervising Speech Pathologist.
• Deliver and support a range of group programs.
• Help children practice skills in play-based and everyday activities.
• Prepare therapy materials and resources.
• Visit children in their home or community when needed.
• Take part in supervision and professional development.
• Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation.
• Develop, update, and maintain therapy tools, visual aids, and client handouts.
• Participate in supervision, training, and ongoing professional development.
• Provide administrative assistance including photocopying, word processing, and client communication.

About the Role: Allied Health Assistant (AHA)

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Allied Health Assistant to join our growing team. This role is perfect for someone who loves helping kids, is eager to learn, and thrives in a supportive environment.

You’ll work closely with our Speech Pathologists to help deliver therapy programs, prepare fun therapy activities, and support the smooth running of our sessions and clinic.

What You’ll Do:

About You

You’re caring, organised, and a great communicator. You love working with children and enjoy being part of a friendly, collaborative team.

Position Criteria:

Previous experience working with children within a school or pre-school based setting, as a teachers aide or childcare assistant. OR

Completed Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (HLT43015) with Speech Pathology stream;
OR currently studying a recognised Speech Pathology degree;
OR overseas-trained therapist awaiting Australian recognition.

Demonstrated ability to follow therapy programs under supervision.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Commitment to evidence-based practice and client-centred care.

Current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain).

Current driver’s licence and reliable transport (if outreach work is required).
