Job summary

hipages is seeking a Software Engineer (AI Tooling & Enablement) to help build the shared platform that enables engineers, product teams and AI agents across the SDLC. You will shape the harness, plugins, MCP integrations and AI-enabled CLIs, delivering robust, observable features that scale with the business needs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on use of agentic coding tools and LLMs.
• Experience building MCP servers or agent integrations.
• Writing automated evals and tests (unit, integration and/or end-to-end).
• Containerisation (Docker) and familiar with running workloads on Kubernetes.
• CI/CD principles and practices, and git version control.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain harness and platform features: plugins, skills, MCP integrations, internal AI-enabled CLIs, and scaffolding; ensure robustness, tests, and observability.
• Improve hipages’ development experience across the SDLC through better tooling, higher test coverage, and cleaner code/data structures.
• Wire up agent tooling: tool-use, scoped permissions, error handling, and automated verification via Playwright and Maestro; instrument behavior in Honeycomb.
• Troubleshoot complex AI tooling issues across both platform and product.
• Work with version control and CI/CD, safely rolling changes forward and back; contribute to production infra on AWS/Kubernetes with Terraform.
