Job summary

IMC Trading is seeking a systems engineer to build and operate the AI safety and tooling platform that powers our production-critical systems. You will integrate AI SaaS offerings, manage containerized environments, and harden security across agents and internal services.

You will work with global platform teams from Sydney, ensuring robust, observable, and scalable infrastructure while supporting development teams adopting AI workflows. A strong focus on automation and reliability is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of work experience in a relevant role.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong programming experience in Python or Go; Shell scripting is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix Systems.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and virtualization technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience integrating and operating third-party SaaS solutions, both on-premises and leveraging AWS cloud services.
• Understanding of security principles and best practices, including secrets management, sandboxing, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience designing disaster recovery plans, high availability configurations, and failover strategies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or TeamCity, including automation of build, test, and deployment processes.
• Curiosity about AI/LLM patterns and related toolings.

Responsibilities

• Integrate, deploy, and operate AI SaaS offerings and self-hosted AI services.
• Design and maintain containerization and virtualization environments for AI agents and related services.
• Drive security hardening of AI agents and internal services, including secrets management and access controls.
• Write and maintain code to extend, integrate, and automate services and tooling.
• Build telemetry, monitoring, and evaluation infrastructure for reliable, observable AI workflows.
• Collaborate with development teams to align platform capabilities with evolving AI workflows.
• Diagnose and resolve incidents with a follow-the-sun model to ensure continuity.
