About Hollard

Hollard Insurance is part of the Hollard Group of Companies and a top 5 General Insurer in Australia and New Zealand. We underwrite a broad range of general insurance products, including motor, home, contents, business, bicycle and pet, in proud partnership with some of Australia's biggest consumer brands and broker businesses. As an independent and privately owned company, we believe we can go further together -- for our people, customers, communities and partners -- through an innovative approach to providing insurance.

Our state-of-the-art facilities in North Sydney reflect our commitment to providing innovative workspaces that support hybrid and remote work.

About the Role

The AI Lead is a strategic partner to the CDAO in executing Hollard's enterprise AI vision. You will set the direction for how AI is adopted, governed and scaled at Hollard, and make sure AI work is integrated with Hollard's data governance, architecture and technology frameworks.

You will also lead the definition and ownership of Hollard's AI management plane: the governance, policy and orchestration layer that sits above our AI models, large language models (LLMs) and autonomous AI agents. This capability is not yet in place at Hollard and is expected to be introduced in the near term.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the CDAO on developing and executing the enterprise AI strategy.

  • Lead strategic AI initiatives that transform business operations, customer experience and competitive positioning

  • Create enterprise standards for AI development and AI governance practices, in partnership with the Data Governance, Regulatory and Strategy team.

  • Work with business stakeholders to identify, shape and prioritise high-value AI use cases

  • Define the approach for each use case, including AI technique, build-versus-buy and partner selection, success measures and risk considerations

  • Define the vision, scope, target architecture requirements and phased roadmap for the AI management plane, and secure CDAO and executive sponsorship.

  • Define how AI agents are identified, authorised and constrained, including access to data and systems, permitted actions, human-in-the-loop checkpoints and escalation paths.

About You
  • Demonstrable experience in AI, machine learning and AI solution development.

  • Proven track record delivering complex AI transformation initiatives.

  • Experience in regulated environments, with a working knowledge of model validation, compliance and audit requirements

  • Strategic leadership experience, with the ability to translate business vision into AI solutions

  • Strong understanding of AI lifecycle management, including monitoring, explainability and evaluation.

  • Exceptional leadership skills that builds credibility and innovation at all organisational levels.
