Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking an experienced Governance professional to manage AI governance within a NSW state government department. The role focuses on coordinating AI governance activities, risk, assurance and compliance processes, and maintaining governance artefacts and records.

Responsibilities include stakeholder engagement, reporting to executives, and uplifting AI governance practices to support scalable AI adoption. Contract until December 2026 with on-site work in Parramatta.

Qualifications

• Strong AI governance, risk and assurance capability and experience.
• AI assessments experience in NSW Government.
• Strong understanding of AI lifecycle governance, including governance ownership, decision rights, escalation pathways and control frameworks.
• Experience maintaining governance registers, tracking actions, monitoring compliance obligations and escalating overdue or high-risk matters.
• Excellent communication and organisation skills.
