Job summary

RACQ is seeking an AI Governance Specialist to establish and continuously improve our enterprise AI governance framework. You’ll provide practical, risk-based advice, oversee AI activities and support the AI Council to ensure solutions align with RACQ policies and obligations.

You’ll collaborate across business, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Privacy, Cyber Security and Data to make governance practical and proportionate, balancing innovation with responsible risk management for our

• Understanding of how AI is used across organisations to deliver value and mitigate risk.
• Experience developing or applying governance frameworks, policies and controls.
• Strong analytical skills with evidence-based judgement.
• Confidence engaging with technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong facilitation and governance administration skills.

As an AI Governance Specialist, you’ll help establish and continuously improve our enterprise AI governance framework. You’ll provide practical, risk-based advice, oversee AI activities, and support the AI Council to ensure AI solutions align with RACQ policies, standards, and obligations.

About the role

You’ll work across business, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Privacy, Cyber Security and Data to support responsible AI adoption. You’ll make governance practical and proportionate, helping teams innovate while protecting our members and maintaining trust.

You are passionate about AI and excited about the opportunity to enable organisational adoption through practical governance. You’re also a collaborative and solutions-focused governance professional who can balance innovation with responsible risk management. You communicate complex AI concepts clearly, build trusted relationships and confidently influence outcomes without direct authority.

• Strong knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI and technology risk.
• Strong understanding of how AI is being used across organisations to deliver value and mitigate risk.
• Understanding of different AI solutions, key underlying technical concepts, lifecycle risks and human oversight.
• Experience developing or applying governance frameworks, policies and controls.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to make proportionate, evidence-based judgements.
• Confidence engaging with technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong facilitation, influencing, writing and governance administration skills.
• Relevant qualifications or training in AI, technology, risk, privacy, cyber security, data or governance.
