We’re partnering with an established Australian organisation that is significantly increasing its adoption of AI across the business and is now looking for a AI Governance Manager to help shape how AI is governed, scaled and used responsibly.
This isn’t a role designed to put barriers around AI. The focus is on creating practical, proportionate governance that allows the organisation to move quickly, experiment with emerging AI capabilities and bring solutions into production safely.
You’ll sit at the intersection of AI, technology, data, risk and the business, helping establish the frameworks, guardrails and decision‑making processes required as the organisation expands its use of GenAI, LLMs and agentic AI.
What You'll Do:
- Own and evolve the organisation’s AI governance roadmap, standards and control framework.
- Develop pragmatic guardrails covering GenAI, LLMs, agentic AI and emerging AI use cases.
- Review AI initiatives across experimentation, POCs and production, applying governance proportionate to the level of risk.
- Maintain oversight of the organisation’s AI asset register, risk assessments, controls and assurance activities.
- Work closely with AI, Data, Technology, Security, Risk, Privacy, Legal and Procurement teams.
- Provide practical advice to teams building, buying and implementing AI solutions.
- Support AI vendor assessments, third‑party risk and due diligence.
- Translate complex AI risks and technical concepts into clear recommendations for senior executives, risk forums and boards.
- Monitor emerging AI risks, regulation and industry practices and determine what they mean in a practical business environment.
- Help the organisation understand and manage AI usage, controls, incidents, exceptions and remediation.
