Job summary

Westcon-Comstor is seeking an APAC AI Governance & Adoption Lead to shape how unstructured data is governed and how AI is adopted responsibly across the APAC region.

The role sits within the Analytics & AI team and will develop practical governance standards for documents, emails, contracts and knowledge bases, while promoting effective AI tools and programmes with non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data governance, knowledge management or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience supporting generative AI or AI/ML initiatives.
• Strong understanding of how unstructured data supports AI systems.
• Proven ability to influence without direct authority and drive alignment across teams.
• Experience with data privacy frameworks and enterprise content management systems would be advantageous.

Job description

We are looking for a pragmatic and commercially minded APAC AI Governance & Adoption Lead to help shape how we manage unstructured data and support the responsible adoption of AI across the region.

Sitting within our global Analytics & AI team, you will develop practical governance standards for documents, emails, contracts, knowledge bases and other content that supports AI. You will also represent Data & Analytics across APAC, helping teams adopt AI tools, agents and programmes effectively.

This role would suit someone who can turn complex concepts into practical action, build support across a matrixed organisation and introduce appropriate governance without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

What you'll be doing

About you

• At least five years' experience in data governance, knowledge management, information management or a closely related discipline
• Demonstrated experience supporting generative AI or AI and machine learning initiatives
• A strong understanding of how unstructured data supports and affects AI systems
• Strong programme and project management skills, with a track record of delivering cross functional outcomes in a matrixed organisation
• Proven ability to influence without direct authority and build alignment and accountability across teams
• Confidence operating in ambiguous and evolving environments, with the ability to create structure where little currently exists
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical governance concepts to non technical audiences
• A practical mindset and a focus on building governance frameworks that are useful, scalable and adopted by the business
• Experience with data privacy frameworks, enterprise content management systems, retrieval augmented generation, vector search architectures or an Analytics, Data or AI centre of excellence would be advantageous. Relevant certifications such as CDMP, IGQ, CIPP, PRINCE2 or PMP would also be viewed favourably.
