Scalapay S.R.L. in Wollongong is hiring two mid-senior full-stack engineers for the Experiences and B2B Platform teams. You will ship features end-to-end across the stack using Node.js, TypeScript, React.js, NestJS and Next.js, with MySQL, DynamoDB and Redis in modern CI/CD pipelines.

You will work in an AI-first environment, collaborating across teams to design, review and test what AI agents produce. The role offers growth in a fast-paced fintech setting with hybrid work and onsite parking.

2 x Mid-Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

Scalapay is a Wollongong-based Fintech with international reach, helping shoppers and merchants pay more flexibly. We're growing, and we're hiring two experienced Full-Stack Software Engineers to join our Experiences and B2B Platform teams.

Wherever you land, you won't be a small cog in a big machine. You'll take features from idea to production and see your work make a real difference.

About the role

At Scalapay, AI-first is how we work every day, not a slide in a strategy deck. You'll write sharp specs and technical designs, AI coding agents like Claude Code take on the heavy lifting, and you direct, review and test what they produce. You spend less time on boilerplate and more on what great engineers do best: architecture, tricky problems, and making things fast, robust and scalable.

You'll own features from first idea to production across the full stack, working in Node.js, TypeScript and React.js, with NestJS and Next.js, MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis and modern CI/CD pipelines. Experiences team builds the products shoppers see and touch every day. B2B Platform team builds the tools and integrations our merchant partners rely on. Your work ships fast in both teams, and you'll see the impact.

About you

You're an experienced full-stack engineer who does your best work when things are moving fast.

Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, and a spec-driven way of working. Experience writing clear specifications and technical designs first, then directing, reviewing and testing what the agents produce.

Technical expertise within Agile environments using Node.js, TypeScript and React.js, with NestJS and Next.js, MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis and modern CI/CD pipelines. Our preferred cloud environment is AWS.

You've worked in high volume financial transactional environments such as ecommerce, fintech or financial services, so you know what's at stake when software handles people's money, and you care about getting it right.

You think critically and ask "why" before "how."

You can pull apart a complex problem, weigh the trade-offs, and land on the solution that makes sense, not just the first one that works. That same judgement makes you good at reviewing what AI agents produce: you can spot what's off and know how to fix it.

You're adaptable and you enjoy a fast pace. When priorities shift you adjust without losing momentum, and you'd take a dynamic environment over a predictable one any day.

You're also a genuine collaborator. You share what you know, welcome a challenge to your thinking, and want the team to win, not just your own work.
