Job summary

Australian Payments Plus is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager in Sydney to lead a team of Quality Engineers and shape the quality strategy across product delivery. The role emphasizes hands-on testing guidance, risk-based testing, and advancing test automation with AI-enabled practices.

The position requires senior-level experience in quality engineering, strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver reliable payment experiences.

Qualifications

Up to 10+ years’ experience as a Senior or Lead Quality Engineer, or in an equivalent role.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred, or an alternative pathway into engineering.
Payments or financial technology experience is an advantage, but not essential.
Proven leadership, coaching and development of technical teams.
Experience shaping testing strategies and risk-based approaches.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of Quality Engineers, building a collaborative culture.
Set and drive AP+’s Quality Engineering strategy.
Oversee the design, execution and analysis of testing across levels and types.
Advance test automation and AI-enabled testing practices.
Partner with engineering, product and operations to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.
