Job summary

DuluxGroup is seeking an AI Data Engineer to shape how AI integrates into its data ecosystem. You will join the Data & AI team to build scalable data products and pipelines powering advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI initiatives on a modern Databricks platform.

You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts and platform engineers to deliver trusted, AI-ready data assets with strong governance, data quality and security.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer in modern cloud data environments.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines using Databricks, Apache Spark, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to machine learning, advanced analytics, or generative AI use cases.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, data modelling, Lakehouse architectures, CI/CD practices, and automation concepts.
• A strong problem solver who can translate business requirements into data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable, high-quality data products and pipelines powering analytics, ML, and generative AI solutions.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and platform engineers to deliver reliable, AI-ready data assets on our Databricks platform.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an AI Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping how AI is embedded across DuluxGroup's data ecosystem. Working within our Data & AI team, you'll build and maintain scalable, high-quality data products and pipelines that power advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI solutions. You'll collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and platform engineers to deliver reliable, AI-ready data assets on our modern Databricks platform, ensuring strong data quality, governance, security, and performance.

This is a hands‑on role where you'll contribute to innovative AI initiatives, help establish best‑practice engineering standards, and leverage emerging technologies to deliver business value through trusted data solutions.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer working in modern cloud‑based data environments, with strong SQL and Python development skills.
• Hands‑on experience building and maintaining data pipelines using Databricks, Apache Spark, or similar modern data platforms.
• Exposure to machine learning, advanced analytics, or generative AI use cases, with an understanding of AI‑ready data requirements.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, data modelling, Lakehouse architectures, CI/CD practices, and infrastructure automation concepts.
• A strong problem solver who can work collaboratively across technical teams and translate business requirements into practical data solutions.
• A proactive, delivery‑focused mindset, with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and building trusted, high‑quality data products.
